Simon Weng attended Beijing Institute of Iron & Steel Technology, (now Beijing Science & Technology University) from 1960-1966, majoring in Metallurgical Engineering. He worked for Shanghai Alloy Plant and Bao Steel from 1965-1980. He continues his education in University of Louisiana Monroe for his Master Degree. After obtaining his degree he joined Pennsylvania Engineering Corp., a Group, Companies included Birdsboro, Mesta, Lectromelt, Baumco, CCS, Pecor and Pecon etc., serving Steel Industry. During the period he opened the Chinese Market to the American supplier and signed many contracts including five rolling mills, one Slab Caster, one Electrical Arc Furnace and an air pollution Control Unit. In 1987, he joined Tippins Incorporate and again opened China and Other Asian Markets for the company. He serviced the company over 20 years until Tippins was purchased by SMS Group. Then he was the Vice President of SMS-Demag-Tippins and then the Vice President of SMS-Demag USA until his full retirement in July 2009. During his career he has personally signed and involved contracts with a total value of One Billion US dollars.
